I’m Daniel Iser — a WordPress plugin developer, founder and lead engineer at Code Atlantic, and the creator of Popup Maker, Content Control, and User Menus. I build practical tools meant to keep working long after the trend cycle moves on.
My work spans open-source WordPress products, the company behind them, and a growing set of independent media, education, commerce, event, and public-interest projects.
I started building for WordPress when the ecosystem still felt small enough to know everyone shipping serious plugins. What began with client work grew into products used across more than 800,000 active WordPress installations.
Today I lead engineering at Code Atlantic, where we maintain Popup Maker, Content Control, and User Menus. The job is equal parts product architecture, backwards compatibility, customer empathy, and making careful decisions at the scale of hundreds of thousands of websites.
Outside WordPress, I work with my wife, April Iser, on independent digital ventures through Iser Media. Those projects let us turn software, publishing, education, events, photography, commerce, and public-interest ideas into useful things people can actually experience.
Touring, field IT, and agency work all came before the product company. Each chapter taught me how to stay calm around complicated systems, find the real failure, and keep moving.
In 2007 I drove an equipment truck on two national and cross-border North American runs: the Radio Rebellion tour with Job for a Cowboy, Behemoth, Gojira, and Beneath the Massacre; then the Coheed and Cambria / Clutch co-headliner with The Fall of Troy. Both runs stopped at The NorVa just five weeks apart. The road also included the 9:30 Club, The Warfield, The Wiltern, and House of Blues rooms across the country.
2007 · United States + CanadaFor the next few years I handled hands-on IT under WizardIS: pulling cable, cleaning viruses and malware from machines, repairing PCs, troubleshooting X-ray equipment and its connected systems, and doing whatever it took to keep local offices and small businesses working.
